Budleigh / Otterton Circular Walk

Image
Looking toward Ladram Bay & Sidmouth This walk is a little under 10 miles and includes some rough, uneven ground. It takes in the river Otter at the Budleigh end then onto the coast path where you will take in stunning views of the Jurassic coast right along to Brandy Head with its smuggling history and WWII use for testing aircraft mounted gun sights and canons. Shortly after this there is a permissive path taking you 1 3/4 miles into Otterton, along the way you will pass Stantyayne Farm where they have a lovely little honesty cafe, great for a well deserved cuppa and one of the delicious home made brownies or flapjacks. After this the road takes you into Otterton itself, a lovely village where one can pop into the Kings Arms or Otterton Mill for lunch before walking back to the car park in budleigh via the path along the river Otter. One can start from the Lime Kiln Car Park in Budleigh Salterton Link To Google Maps Once you are parked up, walk to the back of the car ...

Welcome to my blog. I use this blog to record my walks and photography around the West Country. I feel privileged to have lived in Devon all my life, I love walking and try to do it every week getting in somewhere between 10 and 20 miles. All the photography is my own unless stated. This is intended as a guide for others. For me walking is a great way to get away from the stresses of everyday life and to be at one with nature at it's finest, the Jurassic coast at East Devon is very special and it is this and many other places that I shall be bringing to this blog over the years - I hope you enjoy :-)
